The 40 Hr/5-Day Field Training Officer (FTO) STC Certification Course will teach current and potential FTO's the necessary information on how to become an effective field training officer. Students will receive FTO certification at the completion of the course. Topics include the History of Field Training Officer Programs, Trends in Field Training, Liability, Ethics, Leadership, FTO Responsibilities, Learning Styles, and how to become an effective FTO. Additionally, students will learn how to properly supervise and evaluate trainees during the field training process. Problem based learning and other hands-on methods of teaching will also be introduced.
